Blog Post 10: Week 10

As a future educator, I think that the best way to encourage technology professional development is through content-focused active learning. This method is very beneficial in helping teachers learn and problem solve. They get the chance to learn about technology while using it themselves. Being able to use technology in a hands-on way will enable teachers to solve problems in the classroom through the technology that they have available to them.

Like I mentioned in the last blog, I thoroughly enjoyed working on the last two powerpoint assignments. Both a fun way to incorporate learning and creativity. Some new skills I acquired from these assignments were learning how to use powerpoint in a more advanced way, specifically being able to implement designs and buttons! Here are some screenshots of both of my powerpoint assignments:

  1. Hey Gabi,
I also enjoyed creating the PowerPoint assignments and getting to learn more skills in relation to this tool! I would also love to learn more about context-focused active learning as a way to encourage technology professional development. I too believe a hands-on approach is a more effective way for students to learn and actually retain information, which can be made easier through technology!

  3. hey girl! I agree that the content-focused active learning is a great method!! I also loved the PowerPoint assignments! I think PowerPoint has been my favorite application to learn more about! Your solar system assignment looks great! (I also used the solar system for a lot of my assignments in this class lol) and the animal quiz looks like the cutest thing ever!!

  4. Hi Gabi, I do agree that active learning is great and both beneficial to the student and the teacher. I like how each of your PPTs look different, specifically because an animal quiz should be for younger children (given the juvenile look) and a solar system quiz should be for older children, supporting its look as well. I think you did great, good job!
